The Venue

Brogdale Farm

The land around Brogdale has been farmed for hundreds of years. Brogdale Farm became the home to the National Fruit Collection in 1952 and now consists of 160 acres of beautiful orchards.

Brogdale Farm has recently developed its old farm buildings for local rural, craft and produce businesses, and in 2007 has launched a beautiful new courtyard of healthy lifestyle and local Kent craft shops, creating The Marketplace.

Brogdale Farm , a great day out in Kent

2007 has also seen the start of the successful Kent fruit festivals, which have not only created a great family day out in Kent but also provided local businesses with the opportunity to market and sell their produce and services.

Brogdale Farm continues with plans for offering new and exciting features, including a new plant centre, meeting and events rooms, workshops and classes, and offering its beautiful grounds for marquee celebrations and parties. The new Brogdale website will also grow, keeping visitors up to date with new developments, businesses, festivals and events. Watch this space!

With lively festivals, seasonal walks in the orchards, the comfortable and delicious offerings of the Orchard Tearoom and the opportunity to taste and buy local produce, Brogdale is growing into an exciting venue not only for a day out in Kent but also as a location to return to again and again.

The National Fruit Collection

The National Fruit Collection is the World’s largest collection of fruit trees and plants. This Kent tourist attraction offers a unique family day out in Kent and also an opportunity for education, exercising both the mind and the taste buds!

Areas of the orchards are open to the public, with information plaques about the trees and their history as well as the opportunity to learn the stories behind the fruit with the entertaining guided orchard tours. Tractor trailer rides are available, when pre-booked, meaning that visitors can walk as much or as little as they wish and still enjoy the collection.

The Rural Enterprise Centre

The Rural Enterprise Centre based at Brogdale Farm promotes living and working in the countryside, providing refurbished quality work space enabling local businesses to achieve their full potential.
